Westminster Cathederal is famous for its glittering mosiac decoration, but it was the un-decorated dark dome that enchanted me. Unlike those luxuriant domes in the Gothic style churches, the dome here has been stained and therefore blackend by centuries of candle smokes and scents. Yet the dome is even higher and looks more stately. When you look up, it seems as if you were looking deep into a dark night sky. The darkness creates mystique; and the mystique arouses the humble feelings as being a tiny creature in this God-created world.
